Roma Publications At Fondazione Giuliani, Roma
In 2014, Dutch publisher Roma Publications presented a retrospective exhibition at Fondazione Giuliani in Rome, entitled Roma Publications 1998—2014. The exhibition, curated by Lorenzo Benedetti and Roger Willems in collaboration with Marc Nagtzaam, also showcased art by numerous artists in the publishers history. Many of these practitioners use the book and printed matter as a central medium in their work, underlining not only the important role of publications to diffuse artistic production, but also in the rethinking of the book medium as an artistic practice.
Presented as a documentary of the exhibition, this volume offers an abundance of installation views, plus a detailed bibliography of Roma publications through the years, and a text by Nickel van Duijvenboden.
With contributions by Gwenneth Boelens, Marlene Dumas, Geert Goiris, Irene Kopelman, Mark Manders, Oksana Pasaiko, and many more.
Roma Publications was founded in 1998 by artist Mark Manders and graphic designer Roger Willems. Today they create works in collaboration with artists, designers, writers and institutions.
