Produced collaboratively by students in Parsons School of Design's Radical Publishing and Riso Lab course, the 2027 Radical Recommendations Calendar transforms the familiar wall calendar into an experiment in collective publishing. Each month pairs an original illustration with a recommendation for a book, film, album, or other work of culture, offering a year-long sequence of prompts for reading, watching, listening, and making.

Designed, written, illustrated, and printed by the class, every aspect of the publication was developed collaboratively—from editorial concept and imagery to paper selection, ink choices, and Risograph production. The project brings together students from graphic design, illustration, fine arts, writing, liberal arts, and global studies, foregrounding publishing as a shared, interdisciplinary practice.

Printed in four Risograph inks (Fluoro Pink, Light Lime, Teal and Violet) at the Parsons Design Lab, the calendar serves equally as a functional object, an exhibition of student work, and a document of contemporary design pedagogy.
