Three-color Combinations
By Ruxandra Duru
A visual exploration of color through 120 carefully composed three-color combinations, each created by arranging sheets of colored paper rather than relying on digital color. Produced between 2021 and 2024, the compositions investigate the subtle relationships between colors.
Created by Brooklyn-based color researcher Ruxandra Duru, whose work spans both independent practice and color consultancy at Google, Three-color Combinations presents a printed reference for designers, artists, and anyone interested in the expressive possibilities of color.
The project is informed by Duru's ongoing investigations into color perception and her work as co-creator of the palette generator Color Moods.
