Positive Influence: Hardcore Fanzine Anthology

Regular price $16.00

Positive Influence was a hardcore fanzine produced by Anji Lum and Buster Cates in San Pedro, California from 1988 to 1989.

This collection includes complete facsimiles of the original six issues along with a new 21 page introduction featuring never-before-seen photography, fliers, and ephemera as well as new interviews with those who made and supported the publication.

This collection is particularly valuable as it highlights the unique perspective of Anji (Bee) Lum, one of the few women publishing zines related to the straight edge hardcore scene of the late '80s, offering insight into her experiences. It provides social and music historians with documentation of an underrepresented voice in the hardcore movement, while designers can explore the visual aesthetics that defined the era.
