Library, Film, Amateur Type Specimen

Regular price $20.00

A limited-edition type specimen experimenting with different monochromatic iris printing methods on an offset printing press and extending on ideas from “Die polychrome Druckerei“ [The Polychrome Printing House]. The focus of the investigation was to examine multiple forms of rainbow printing within the field of spot color printing; the specimen features silver and black.

The specimen showcases type designs for Library, Film and Amateur, all designed by German designer and design educator Pierre Pané-Farré. Amateur is a monospaced cameo semi-stencil designed between 2019 and 2020, originally for the publication Learning/Unlearning from Bauhaus, which documented work from the 2018-2019 design department at Burg Giebichenstein Kunsthochschule Halle (the Burg Giebichenstein University of Art and Design) in Halle, Germany. Film is a conceptual re-take of J.L. David’s Plaque Découpée Universelle.

The specimen was selected as Prize Nominee Work, and exhibited at the 2022 Tokyo TDC Annual Awards
