Local Wind
Catalogs and books published by Israeli artists in the 70s and 80s
Local Wind is an essay and reference book by Aroch featuring scans of catalogs and artists' books created by Israeli artists Igael Tumarkin, Pinchas Cohen Gan, Ezra Orion and Yitzhak Danziger in the 70s and 80s.
The artists that created and published books during those years wandered out into the field, conducting research that was personal, intimate and essential to their work. They were driven by a desire or dream to create a different reality through and in relation to concepts such as locality, identity, otherness and land, around which most of the projects and activities evolved. This book seeks to call attention to these bodies of work that, for some reason or another, do not occupy the place they deserve in the field of art in which we work and to which we belong.
Aroch is Ellie Armon Azoulay and Yonatan Vinitsky.
