A5/01: Hans Hillmann
Born in 1925, graphic artist Hans Hillmann is one of Germany's most important poster designers and illustrators. As a professor of graphic design, he helped launch the career of many designers over the course of his 30-year teaching career. His illustrations have been used for years by publishers and magazines (including FAZ magazine).
The A5 series from Lars Müller Publishers is conceived as a growing archive of graphic design. In numerous illustrations, essays, and interviews, this series focuses on the outstanding personalities and important themes from the history of international graphic design. A5 is a collaboration between the visual laboratory at the Department of Applied Sciences Dusseldorf and Lars Muller Publishers.
