Things about Things
By Tasheka Arceneaux Sutton and Peter Kaplan
A collaboration between graphic designers Peter Kaplan and Tasheka Arceneaux Sutton, consisting of 56 digital compositions created over the course of six years. Each page juxtaposes the work of the two designers, and includes a transcription of their email exchange, documenting their main mode of communication over the years they worked on this project. This visual correspondence, which evolved as the practice continued, started with specific parameters and eventually morphed to accommodate further experimentation.
As design educators Elizabeth Buchta and Daniela Marx point out in their preface, the sort of visual conversation showcased in this book could be a solution for other designers looking to loosen their creative muscles and find a creative flow.
