HAHAHA / AHAHAH: From Art Practice to Typography
Rubin Sans is born from the fusion of art practice, letterforms, and a touch of humor. Developed over several years by the gifted Polish artist Honza Zamojski, the typeface aligns with a refreshing wave of display typography. Honza’s letters were initially designed to be quickly drawn using a ruler and draftsman curve, produced for drawings, murals, sculptures, and art books.
As the font took shape, individual letters and pictograms were crafted for various artistic projects, with their bodies and proportions evolving during the digitization process. The result is a visually striking and meticulously refined font that seamlessly integrates creative expression with typographic aesthetics.
The specimen's first section, in yellow, presents chronological quotes and short texts from Honza artworks. Images of the source artworks are presented in a black-and-white section.
