stemme (No. 1)
Stemme is a New Zealand based publication focused on art and design. Created by students from the Auckland University of Technology's Faculty of Design and Creative Technologies, the publication aims to create a venue for interdisciplinary collaboration and discussion, with a particular focus on regional relationships and artists.
Issue 1 includes contributions from graphic design faculty, including Welby Ings, Jonty Valentine (founder of NZ's Index Studio), Gjoko Muratovski, and Peter Gilderdale; and a selection of student designed typefaces.
Also includes profiles of product designers, artists, and artisans: Maori artist Tristan Marler; painters Henry and Hugo Christian-Slane; footwear designer Ellen Moore; the Haptic Feedback Glove Project; textile designers Charissa McGrath, Hollee Fisher, and Caroline Stephenson; product designer and surfboard specialist Mike Grobelny.
Plus a selection of photographs shot on film and an article on imagined cartography by Eden Short.
