Poster Collection 13: Typo China
This publication brings together contemporary posters from China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan that demonstrate that an abiding interest in the poster, awakened as a result of the economic opening of the mainland.
The commercial use of the poster in China hardly differs at all from Western standards. Yet with growing self-confidence, designers have gained attention with innovative posters on cultural and nonprofit themes. The striking frequency with which writing and typography have become the main focus of posters is evidence of designers exploring the invaluable wealth of their own written traditions.
