A Dictionary of Color Combinations, Volume 2
From 1933 to 1934, Sanzo Wada published a collection of color combinations that was the first of its kind in Japan. His 6-volume classic Haishoku Soukan (The complete collection of color combinations) was published from 1933 to 1934.
Following up on the first book based on the Haishoku Soukan, Seigensha's A Dictionary of Color Combinations, this second volume presents two more works by Wada: Haishoku Soukan B edition, published between 1934 and 1935, which showcases 72 color patterns themed around on the twelve months of the Japanese year. And Gohyaku-sen Shinsaku Zuanshu (Collection of 500 selected new designs), originally published in 1937, pulls together 165 color patterns drawn from early to mid-twentieth-century fashion, interior, and graphic design, making it an indispensable reference for designers, fashion and interior specialists, illustrators, photographers, writers, and indeed anyone engaged in creative work.
Wada's work continues to live and shine, and his color research remains a rich resource for contemporary projects.
