Poster Tribune, Issue 2

$21.00

Posters are equally artistic creations, communication tools and witnesses to social, commercial and artistic trends from specific periods. Poster Tribune examines and breathes new life into these short-lived street exhibitions. The articles in each issue document and promote contemporary international and Swiss graphic design, reflect on poster history and report on recent exhibitions. Poster Tribune contains 12 pages of illustrated articles and 3 posters.

The focus of Poster Tribune Issue 2 is the love story between music and graphic design.

Subjects in this issue include: the relationship between design and music; the psychedelic posters of Wes Wilson; the abstract music posters of Josef Müller-Brockmann; concert posters by German designer Johann Kauth; posters for the Rote Fabrik in Zurich and the work of Roli Fischbacher, Peter Bäder, and Cornel Windlin in the 1980s; Jonas Voegeli's posters for Zukunft; the typography of Britney Spears's album covers; Elvis Studio (Helge Reumann and Xavier Robel); and Laurent Benner's posters for Ritmo at The Life Bar in London.

Also includes interviews with Swiss draftsman and graphic designer Aloys Lolo, founder of Lolos studio, and Zurich-based designers Sereina Rothenberger and David Schatz of design studio Hammer.
