Jan Bons: A Designer's Freedom
Dutch graphic designer Jan Bons is known for his unmistakeable designs for the International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam (IDFA) and theatre group De Appel. Together with designers Willem Sandberg and Otto Treumann, he has helped define the post WWII graphic landscape in the Netherlands. Brightly colored, torn, and self-drawn letters typify his style for poster and stamp designs, as well as his wall paintings. This volume, with a short biography by Paul Hefting, features a rich collection of illustrations and is accompanied by a DVD featuring Bons at work and in a wide-ranging discussion.
