New York-based artist Daniel Zender visited Easter Island (Rapa Nui) from October 18-26, 2017. The island, which is 63 square miles, and over 2,000 miles from any shore, proved to be a rich environment for observation and on-location drawing. This Riso-printed gem is the result, a collection of images that brings together Zender's experience in an organized and meaningful way. Included is a text that traces the artist's journey to Rapa Nui and his interest in the Moai (the monolithic human figures carved by the Rapa Nui people on Easter Island in eastern Polynesia between the years 1250 and 1500).
