A Magazine Reading Into Cities
An experimental travel journal disguised as an unassuming city guide, each pocket-sized issue of Desired Landscapes dives into the subjective representation of place and locale. The result is a compact stories of person-to-place bonds, urban observations and poetic snapshots, each exploring the sense of a place and the notion of representation in the urban experience.
Issue 04 covers BUDAPEST - VILNIUS - ALGIERS - KUWAIT - ATHENS - LISBON - VIENNA - BUENOS AIRES - ANAFI - NEW YORK.
In this issue, an array of distinct voices reading into a mix of cities: with pieces on architectural clichés, escapism, Athenian kiosks as a defining street structure, Lisbon's urban transformation, the notion of space now mediated by the screen, and the amalgamation of styles that defines Beunos Aires.
Conceived by editor-in-chief and Greek graphic designer Natassa Pappa, Desired Landscapes serves as a collection of work depicting distant vistas — unvisited or perhaps unforgettable, projections of possible homes, streets to be discovered, and urban clichés to be demystified.
