Cast It #2
This product is sold out
The second issue of Cast It considers two chapters of John Smith’s The printer’s grammar (1755). The chapters—“chapter 1: Of roman, italic and black printing letter” and “chapter 2: Of the different bodies and sizes of printing letter”—are typeset to showcase CAST’s typefaces in a specimen. A foreword by James Mosley, the former Librarian of London's St. Bride Printing Library and a specialist in the history of printing and letter design, is included; his text explores the history of The printer's grammar and what can be concluded about its author.
CAST is a digital type foundry which shares Smith's entrepreneurial and cosmopolitan spirit by promoting international discussions on typographic matters.
