Gotico-Antiqua, Proto-Roman, Hybrid: 15th Century Types Between Gothic and Roman

Regular price $68.00

The first comprehensive and thorough scientific study of typographic typefaces created in Germany, Italy and France between 1459 and 1482, which are neither fully gothic nor roman: a revival of some fifteen typefaces initiated during workshops in international art and design schools and then finalized at the Atelier National de Recherche Typographique (ANRT) in Nancy, France.

This book brings together and organizes the typefaces deemed to be the most representative and presents a comparative analysis of the typefaces, from their possible palaeographic origins to the contexts of their use (places, printers, editions).

With texts by Thomas Huot-Marchand, Christelle Kirchstetter, Olivier Deloignon, Riccardo Olocco, Martina Meier, Nikolaus Weichselbaumer & Mathias Seuret, Alexis Faudot & Rafael Ribas, Dan Reynolds, Christopher Burke, Ferdinand Ulrich, Jérôme Knebusch.

Edited by Christelle Kirchstetter, Thomas Huot-Marchand, and Jérôme Knebusch.
