Flash Me

Tattoo flash is a traditional art form displayed in tattoo shops throughout the world. This creative art form presents to shop customers a curated selection of pre-designed art for them to draw inspiration from, or choose to ink on the spot.

Cooler Gallery's 2017 show, which this volume was produced to accompany, challenged a wide range of visual artists to extend concepts from their bodies of work into the medium of flash—and in doing so challenge the form itself. This book is a compilation of two-dimensional artwork along with documentation of pieces people had inked (by tattoo artists Jon Mesa and Gabriel Pantoja) at the opening.
