Catalog published on the occasion of the exhibition WT in LA by the graduate students of the Werkplaats Typografie (WT), Typographers-in Residence at the Hoffmitz Milken Center for Typography (HMCT), ArtCenter College of Design, Pasadena, California. 

The Werkplaats Typografie (WT), a two-year graphic design masters program founded in 1998 by Karel Martens and Wigger Bierma, is part of the ArtEZ University of the Arts. The WT is centered on assignments and self-initiated projects with lectures, seminars, meetings, and readings geared towards self-accountable and independently motivated work and research. 

WT Students Charlotte Tailet, Dorothee Dähler, Eloise Harris, Jin Kwang Kim, Adriaan Van Lueven, Joel Coloveer, Line-Gry Hørup, Luca Napoli, Maria Mitcheva, Oliver Boulton, Rosie Eveleigh, Robert Milne, Auriane Preud'homme, Sabo Day, Yeliz Secerli, Malin Gweinner, and Melina Wilson, accompanied by faculty Armand Mevis, Anniek Brattinga and Ilke Gers, participated in the HMCT residency program in January and February of 2017. 

During their six-week stay in Pasadena, the seventeen WT graduate students worked on individual and collaborative projects based on a broad theme of “Mapping the Stars” that represented their impressions, reactions, and observations of Los Angeles.

The catalog includes interviews with Anniek Brattinga, Yeliz Secerli, Line-Gry Hørup & Sabo Day, and Charlotte Tailler & Josel Colover; images of the exhibition at HMCT; iPhone photos taken by the students, sequenced in chronological order.
